I dressed up for tea time
You said, I looked the perfect doll,
In my dress of ecru lace
With matching parasol,
And you, quite the Victorian gent
With your top hat and cane,
We made a handsome couple
Strolling through the lane.
After the gas lamps were lit,
We slipped in from our date,
But they said it was just scandalous
Our coming in so late.
They''re gathered 'round talking,
Someone mentioned 'flog'!
Why does no one believe,
We were just lost in the fog?
