This Is What I Have to Tell Myself

Look into my eyes and you will find
One million miles of cracks and craters.
Empty ocean floors, corroded peaks,
And a lost little boy.

Follow me into the fire.
Breathe down my neck.
Wrap your hands around my throat.
Look behind the curtains.

I fight to distract myself from this;
From life, from love, from fear, from you.
Hide behind myself.
The smiling face you see is merely a myth.

It's not really there.
I don't even exist.
Nobody can see me.
My memories have melted away.

This is what I have to tell myself
Just to get by. To breathe.
To feel, fight, and fly.
This is what I have to say..

Just to keep going.

Please tell me what you think
