My knight in shinning amour came to rescue me
at my family Christmas party many yrs ago
I knew your love for me would continue to grow
The engagement ring I have on my left hand
Is a symbol of the love that continued to grow inside of you
The day you gave it to me I remember so well
Sitting on the chair at JC Penny
When you asked me to marry you
You knew I was going to say “yes”
At that time it was the only choice I had
Because we knew that our baby needed his dad
two weeks later
my father walked me down that isle
The wedding band sealed the deal
When you placed it on my finger
I knew our lives together
Had just began
After hard times
A lot of pain I caused
I sold the rings to a neighbor
Just to get you off my mind
Three years later I seen you again
The new chapter of our lives began
I couldn’t stand being without you
My heart continued to ache
I know I caused a lot of heartbreak
When I told the neighbor
I was getting back with you
She returned the rings,
It was the “right” thing to do
You decided that I really did still love you
You told me to go to store and get a bigger Diamond
You were surprised when you called that day from Iraq
I told you I was at the store right then
Upgrading my ring
Enhancing the love we continued to share
I know everyday how much you care
I never want to loose you again

I am not alone I see...
This is my story too.
I was with the father of my boys for eleven years, and then we split up,
I saw him again twelve years later at our son's wedding, and well......
we are back together, just still have two thousand miles between us
But soon... So you can imagine how this one touched me! Congrats honey!!!

Oh my friend I'm am in tears!!! This is so beutiful! I can't tell you how touching this was to read. To loose someone you love burns so badly and the only thing that bliss that burn is a kiss of love! I'm really happy that you get another chance and I can see in this poem how much you love him! Cherish him and I pray that he will cherish you and that the two of you will grow old together. Sittin on the front porch one day, still holding hands as you laugh about the silly things you got up to in your 20's!!
