They said he was a just king
and hence to his memory we all sing
his royalty flourished in our country for long
long live his kingship is our song
this is the story that I shall tell
of a king who jumped in a well
He was eleven when the crown
placed itself on his head held down
He ruled the country in every possible way
until there came a dreadful day
an idiot entered the city through the gates
the people did not know what was to be their fates
He walked past guards and entered the main hall
he was dressed in torn rags and a discoloured shawl
His royal majesty was having his lunch
with bread butter and his favourite punch
He said to the king,"how is it that you
rule this country like you do?"
the king replied,"you fool do not get
what this post of the king does expect
there are many things to keep in mind
like taking care of the poor and the blind."
the fool suddenly gave an unexpected shout
and ran towards the king screaming aloud,
"you made man ! if you take care of the poor
where have you been when I didn't have a door?
you call yourself a king and yet
many are starving because you forget !! "
the king furious of his sudden out burst
through him into jail,head first
but soon he realised that the fool
was illiterate, had not gone to school
but he had spoken wisely in the hall
that had lead to his kingship's downfall.
the mob heard of what had happened in court
and entered as a herd into the main fort.
"oh king! the fool was right
he has shed upon us light"
the king refused and stormed out of the castle
and then began the legendary hassle
the mob ran after the king through the streets
passing through grasslands and tiny fleets
the king saw a cottage and tried to hold on
but he became very weak, the mob was too strong
afraid of the upcoming farewell
he saw his end and jumped in a well
two months later, the fool was found to be king
"long live his kingship" is what we sing !
