My soul becomes a battlefield,
A graveyard of dead emotions
A reservior of cold tears,
My rational mind scoffs at my human heart.
And my human heart cries because it is alone.
My mirror shows a parallel universe,
Where I am exactly who I want to be
And the world is perfect
And my human heart cries because it doesn't understand
But my rational mind gets it.
My careful non-conformity is just like everyone else's
And my human heart is buried just deep enough
To be safe, but unseen.
And my rational mind gaurds it,
Keeps it whole, keeps it hidden.
But the tears leak all over my human heart,
Bathing it in terrible sorrow
And my rational mind notices but stays silent
And my human heart freezes
But my rational mind has done it's job well
And this frozen block of ice in my chest remains
And taints the mirror with reality
But my tears are frozen
And my rational mind is in control.
And it leaves me static in a changing world.
