Little star just born
barely shining in the morn.
Hiding from the blinding light,
safely out of sight.
Other stars don't want to play.
They tell her to go away.
Floating further out to space,
saddened, shamed and disgraced.
Not so bright,
try as she might.
No one wants her to stay.
Leaves to shine another day.
barely shining in the morn.
Hiding from the blinding light,
safely out of sight.
Other stars don't want to play.
They tell her to go away.
Floating further out to space,
saddened, shamed and disgraced.
Not so bright,
try as she might.
No one wants her to stay.
Leaves to shine another day.
Author notes
“Stars long dimmed shine fierce
Light bursts asunder in grandiose inferno
As alignment interminability prophesied
Tells tale of designs come to pass
Awaken from thy dream at last” – taken from ' “Cthulhu Fhtagn” – Cthulhu Lies Dreaming'

Excellently used metaphor here, not overly shrouded as to confuse the reader, a very beautiful image used to tackle something all too painful and all too real.
Good write.

Very nicely done, my best wishes.

Very sad, got goose bumps believe it or not. Well written.

This is a sad poem indeed, to be rejected and shunned for no valid reason is so cruel. You have captured some raw emotions and deep feelings that are hard to deal with. I hope this star finds its' place in the galaxy to shine and be appreciated.
