i want to poke at this silence
and dream up chaos
i don’t want to lie here with
nothing but my guilt
i envied you- and for a while
i liked you
but even blue skies have clouds.
i can paint you now,
naked and exposed on a hungry
x-ray film
with nothing but my smile
dotted against yours
but there’d be too many shadows
and silhouettes i’d rip apart.
i pictured you yesterday
and replayed every thought i had
and too many times, you were
my shadow
and too many times i’d let you down.
i want to know, so desperately
it hurts,
if you are all right-
i was a fool to think your life was
a perfect blue skies
but we grow up.
and now, more than anything
i want to tell you
that even clouds clear blue skies
and silver someday turns gold.

"i envied you- and for a while

Interesting line with solid facts. I liked this poem but your last stanza was a bit confusing? Might be just me. good luck in the contest.
