Walking alone in the dark
Water splashing across my face
Hiding the tears that fall down my cheeks
Slowly I approached closer and closer
Hoping to just catch a glance
Of someone who would care
Your car rushed pass me
Then gave a flick of white lights
Playing across the back
Rolling back towards me
You called me into your car to get out of the rain
But sensing my hesitation
You realized something was desperately wrong
Parking your car and climbing out of it
You reached out and held onto my arm
I looked down away from you
Under my chin you placed your hand
Raising my head so I must look into your eyes
Asking me what's wrong
All I could do was laugh
As tears continually fell
I began to lose the will to stand any longer
Falling to my knees you followed
And just held me there in the pouring rain.
