Blink 1: The Wings of an Auburn Sunset

Folding a thousand times over,
Little shards of sunlight
Escape a fleeting thought,
Glittering with potent beauty
Then disappearing
Into the darkness of solitude
And the silence of the night crowd.

    What's a Blink?

Fine Zen-like poem! Almost seems like a short oriental form! Very well worded and this one flows very well! I like your poem here and wish you luck in the contest!

    • I just named 'em blink; it's the first of hopefully several poems that I'll write. I have two right now, and I think this is the better of them. Actually the name comes from a song, called "Blink" by Infected Mushroom. I was listening to that song when I got the idea, hence the name.

I was very intrigued by your title. When I saw the length, I was unsure your poem live up to the title- but it certainly did. I honestly thoroughly enjoyed every line, from beginning to end. Your poem has such a simplicity to it, warm but sharp.
Excellent job and thank you for entering,
    KP

Thank you very much for the praise ^.^, I wish I could have done more with it though. My muse ran out on line 6 with this one though, and I couldn't logically foresee any future lines.

The glimmer of that glistening idea as it fades away...this is awesomeness! ^_^ Your word choices are the epitome of such, by the way. Off to the next one!! ^.^
