Solace on the Sea

Missing image

I feel a need to sail away, and

To this ragged shore, say goodbye;
And all I want is a sturdy ol' ship,

To master the margin of tide;

All I wish for is wind to carry me

Safely there, as it's billowin' by;

And the moon and brilliant stars,

Hopeful promises of a sunny sky,

Companionship of a gull overhead,

And my friend waiting on the other side.

    That's exactly how I feel at the moment. This is a stunning write!
    I loved the imagery and the use of metaphor. The picture painted is so wonderful, the words are carrying me away. Good luck to you. This is excellent.

    Love

    You have one lucky friend, Sweetie! This is a beautiful piece with rich imagery. I also love the image you chose to compliment it. The flow and rhyme are perfect! What a great read!

    John Masefield's "I Must Get Back To The Sea Again" kept coming to me as I read this lovely poem.
    It is more than beautiful...the images you portray here...After my own heart you are...a lover of the sea...I knew there was a strong connection...Every line is a gem to read...This is getting a bookmark!

    beautiful~

    This makes me want to get on a ship and go sailing away..........
    Only would want to do so in warmer weather...better than the 38 degrees and snow showers we are now having...
    Beautiful imagery throughout the poem as well
    Best of luck in the contest
    Hugs
    Susan~~~
