Snow and City Lights

Snow, like rain, descends the earth
Gentle tufts of light, weak cold
And settle, silent, on your lawn
While you retreat to warmth
You dare not touch it, lest with gloves
You'd rather watch it land
Swirl, tumble, trip about
The sweet and silent snow.

And when it lands upon your lawn
The snow compacts, it dries
Becomes a quiet sheet of ice
And nestles with your gaze
It crunches underneath your feet
Sinks inside your skin
The snow, so sharp and bittersweet
It saps and beats your heart.

For all this torment, there is one
Thing the snow does do
Something warm and wonderful
The window shows you how
At night when all is calm and dazed
The city lights snap on
With that snow begins to glow
And shows something like life.

Dirty, worn out city lamps
Can make such wonders grow
When you look outside at night
Glimpse warm, rose colored snow.

Author notes

The lights at night really DO make the snow look pink to me. Maybe I'm screwed up? xD Well, hope you like.

My absolute favorite lines in this one...
At times rhythm seemed strange to me, but its a different type of poetry, and was overall extremely well formed. I liked many of your word choices, and VERY nice subject. ^_^ Is it absolutely FRIGID there as well?
