there were no flowers that day

her eyes
followed that which mine could not see

last breath expelled,
her face relaxed
and left a hint of a smile

the scent of roses filled the room

Oh my, how this hit home. I have experienced this-smelling flowers right after a loved one died. This touched my heart.
