Grandfather Clock

"Tick . . .
Tock . . .
Tick . . .
Tock . . ."
My mind is penetrated by this
Quote from Grandfather Clock.

His hands move a second a minute,
As if they are standing still, not moving an inch.
Oh the audacity in it!,
Leaving me in anxious suspense.
How dare he keep me waiting?!
It's such an evil trick.
All the while he is saying
Nothing more than a tock and a tick.

Please tell me what you think

The sound of the clock has purpose, the purpose to motivate people to do things they have never done before.

Time catches us all and tests our patience towards it. Amazing piece

I love this poem. We have a 3rd floor apartment that looks out to a clock tower
and I've toyed with the idea of writing about the clock and passage of time...
Thank you for sharing your poem!
