As Page In Making

Missing image
I crave the ghost of fossilized journey,

spirit come before this canyon sky
to soar in grounded feather,
perhaps a teacher,
knowing earth, as page in making.

Sign is mark in windy disintegration,
love's caress of common commitment
sage, showing way to saving day,
as orange glows west, the night-cloud coming.

I am called to step, now, so softly,
seeking eyes to open ground,
where flower speaks, and heart will open.

And if you follow,

there is artifact attracting root,
this human rising to light and boot,

expressing land, we weave in story.

So lovely. This speaks so beautifully of the treasures of experience and memory, and the wisdom we savor, protect. And yet it looks forward...there are more marks to be made, and more beautifully if made together. Yep, so lovely.

    Congrats on the shiny.

Your opening sentiment is intriguingly gorgeous! I also adore the thought of "page in making". The mixture of land and sky melts into a wondrous blend in this poem. It is as if you have taken easel and paint brush, and stroked the essence of life with these words. I am so thoroughly impressed with your musing.

Good Luck in the contest with this pleasing poetry.

So many things come from the skies to touch the earth, and life and the elements of life among the things we suspect and imagine. This poem has a wonderful use of words to evoke a mood, bring mystery, and the feeling of a search for the maker of footprints of life. Excellent. Thank you for this fine entry into the contest and best of luck in the judging...PK
