I never belonged
in the human race.
I was beaten
neglected
and forgotten
whenever it sooted
them.
However, finally I am at home.
At peace
with both my inner being
and with nature.
For you see
with these wonderful
creatures
I have a family.
they care for me
as they would care for themselves.
They love,
feed,
and support me
as no human ever has.
I would give my life for my new family
as they would for me.
Acceptance, you see
does not have to be a human thing.
Acceptance is a feeling
a welcoming
a wonder
for those who have never felt it before.
