Sometimes I see her smiling still
In the dreams of early dawn
Where sleep has sent me searching
For the place that she had gone
Wakening almost believing then
That she was their at my side
Or at least to hear her laughter
As from me she tries to hide
Then memories come crashing in
Once more the truth I face
And again I ask all the gods
For just one small bit of grace
The heart is so hard to mend
When grief has come to stay
The soul like an empty shell
Covered in a cloud of gray
Please tell me what you think

SoulWhisper.... perfect name for you as you do whisper to the soul through your beautiful poems.
Every one I read becomes my favorite, as I have said before you have a way of connecting with your readers that is not matched by many.
Many applause John!

So Heartfelt!!!
Good morning John,
You write with such emotion from your heart. I feel the longing in each word. I know that feeling well the past few years. Some are meant to remain in our hearts long after we are gone from theirs. Thank you for sharing. A beautiful poem to read in my melocholy mood. Hugs and Smiles,
Blesing sprinkled with love, Sandy

Hi, Dad, it's been too long since I've read a poem from you.

This was beautiful, but so sad. I love your rhyming and all the emotion you've penned here.
I hope everything is well.
