There is a girl
Who walks my dreams
The sweetest girl
I’ve ever seen
And when she talks to me
I feel so young and free
I want to dance
I want to laugh
I want to jump for joy
Acting just like a boy
I want to dance
o
There is a girl
With hair of gold
She doesn’t know
I never told
Yet when she walks with me
I feel so young and free
I want to dance
I want to laugh
I want to jump for joy
Acting just like a boy
I want to dance
o
There is a girl
With eyes of blue.
Whose heart is pure
Whose heart is true
And when she smiles at me
I feel so young and free
I want to dance
I want to laugh
I want to jump for joy
Acting just like a boy
I want to dance
o
Her laughter’s Bright
Her smile is sweet
She’ll knock you right
Right off your feet
Now that she lives with me
I feel so young and free
I want to dance
I want to laugh
I want to jump for joy
Acting just like a boy
I want to dance
What did you think

this is such an uplifting poem / lyrics. I had the same thought as Janice with the repetition and thought that the word pattern for tempo was perfect.
so well done and left a smile on my face to read something of good spirits.
hope all is well with fighting this ice we have as of late.
be well,
Kim

You are correct Jan, I wrote it as lyrics to a song I had going on in my head.
As you may have noticed there are three tempos.. The first starts as a slow romantic waltz then picks up tempo as you do a few swings and spins then faster as you pull apart and dance free.. the breaks are to extend that until it restarts with a waltz as the couple come together again the male whispering the words in his girls ear.
