So many masks, we wear for the crowd,
Some make us quiet, some make us loud,
Images meant to gain acceptance by all,
But the person behind will eventually fall.
I take of my mask, I unveil my face,
Of lies and malice let there be not a trace,
I let you see me, unfurbished and shined,
I show you the person that God has defined.
At five foot six I am short for my age,
But by this alone you should not gage,
I am strong for my size, in decent shape,
And I am a record of many a scrape.
Quick to learn, to understand if I want,
But that ability I will try not to flaunt,
Sarcastic and mean, but gentle and kind,
These are some of the things you will find.
I have a confidence that I can do what needs done,
Keeping also a sense of great fun,
I love to laugh, and laugh to live, live to love,
And I love a girl that fits like a hand in a glove,
This love is what drives me, without it I'm dead,
My limbs would be slow, heavy, made out of lead,
Love is my life, the reward of it all,
And when I am down, its her name I call.
Thats me in a nutshell, a summary short,
There is so much to tell I cannot report,
But this given for now, its all that you get,
But thats alright, for you and I, we have just met.

Thank you for your entry in "reader meet author" This is a decent write, but the rhyme scheme seemed predictable at several points, as in- I could already guess the end of the next line as I was reading it. Thanks again, and all the best...
