I am a poet
Till the end
I remember when
I didn't know it
So long ago the pen did fall
Never used
Not at all
Wordless paper so pure and white
Then my world was stole away
A year of anger, pain, and hate
Then I found a way
To get rid of the shame
Take a pen
That white paper
It began to stain
And to this day
The pen has stayed
Poised above a plain white page
Ready for yet another day

Aww.. I'm sorry about your grandma hun, but so glad that you picked up that pen and wrote and now you are definitely a poet!! Great write!

it seems like every time that you write a poem i have a new favorite.

A really poignant piece. I loved some of the phrases you used here. "wordless paper" was my favourite. What a wonderful description.
And I love the first verse, with the spin on the old "Im a poet and I didnt know it" phrase.
Nicely penned.

Aww this really is a beautiful write, you have a couple of really good phrases there. 'Wordless paper' and 'It began to stain' are excellent. I like the rhyme to, not forced and reads smoothly. Sorry about your grandmother
Brilliantly penned hunni
