The knight walks in clanking armor
His face is set as stone
The war is on--he cannot fear
Though his fear is scented upon his sweat
But only by his wife
Who stands by the door with a single yellow rose
Waiting to kiss her husband good-bye
He looked deep into her eyes
"I may be strong
But it is your strength that carries me...
Yours and God's."
Through choking tears
She could only say
"Just come back home...
Alive."
