Black Wands

Her dream release dipped in venom,
enchantment’s mother
evil’s benefactor
wand weaving white light
with dark seductive spell.

Freedom’s trail she danced
upon crystalline lilting steps
towards a charmed castle,
wed in fantasia’s gown,
sunset glow in golden visions.

But stones held secrets
crown, a demon’s shimmer,
black sway of vile and hideous torment
hidden beneath the wish façade,
chastity she bore in abuse’s lair
now surrender to deep protruding
talons of horror.

Pauper turned princess
only a day’s charade,
by nights her life languishes
in a pit of wickedness,
witnesses terrors her innocence veil
could never imagine.

Clad forever in black elegance
step sibling sadistic tyranny
honeyed memories
compared to her paradise
nestled in bloody thorns.

The first half of this felt almost like sleeping beauty, but it came through as cinderella in the end. I like the strong imagery, and your word choice and diction are powerful as well. You create a dark tale of happily never after.
    Well penned,

    shocking.

    this is an exceptional write...
your use of language makes the whole piece just flow so well.

    the last stanza particularly caught my attention;
the unpleasantness of her previous circumstances was nothing compared to the horror she now faces.
this is most definately a fairytale gone horribly wrong.

    great work!
