End and Beginning Again

I've been stuck in this hell too long,
hopelessly dreaming of a happy ever after,
too long overdue.
You promised me forever,
where are you now?
In the arms of another.
You thought I'd wait forever,
and cut my heart deeper for you.
you're wrong.
I'm not stronger as I was before,
but I'm putting my foot down in front of you,
ending this dance of forgotten pretenses.
Losing feeling in your black abyss,
I realize who the angel crying over my rotting corpse is,
the one person who truly cared for me,
the one i dismissed so easily.
Suddenly my heart grows stronger,
my head gets clearer,
my soul gets lighter,
and I begin to feel.
It's too much,

I've been dead too long,
but the angel coaxs me back,
back to where happiness is possible.
She smiles a heartwrenching grin,
my blood boils,
as angel lips touch mine for a moment.
A chaste kiss meant for friends and relatives,
brings me out of my prison.

the lock of my cell door falls,
the door opens,
as arms open to embrace me,
as i stuggle to stay awake.
I hang on to the numbness,
this feeling scares me,
I shy away like a woman who has never glimpsed the sun,
the light softens,
the angel light drifts away.
She is a girl once again,
but he love for me shines brightly.
I glance behind me,
at the heartbreak and depression,
I bend to get the lock,
but it's in her hand.
She smiles again,
and hands me the lock.
Together we close the door to my prison,
my darkness,
we lock it tight,
and walk away hand in hand,
toward the sunset,
toward happiness,
toward love.
