Sound the trumpet, let the drum beat,
Play the woodwind and the strings!
Sing for joy, tell of a Saviour's birth,
The Son of God, born to a virgin,
As a tiny babe he entered our world.
It was a long, dusty road that led to Bethlehem,
A stable sufficed for Mary and Joseph that night,
For the innkeeper had no room.
Give from the heart, think of others,
Make Christmas special for someone in need.
One day we shall see him...
Not as a baby in a manger,
But highly exalted, seated at God's right hand.
Free from pain and suffering
The redeemed will worship him,
And his praise will be unending!
