A red rose in the winter, bent
Laden with frosty load
Snowstorms and blizzards came and went
Leaving all in white coats
Missing the sun’s tender rays
Their nursing warmth, bereft
The rose, its life slipping away
Struggles for all that’s left
Snow and sleet with freezing cold
At last the end is nigh
For the rose, so valiant and bold
It is time to die
But, when winter ends and spring arrives
With it the gentle rains
When shoots and buds begin to thrive
The rose shall live again
Laden with frosty load
Snowstorms and blizzards came and went
Leaving all in white coats
Missing the sun’s tender rays
Their nursing warmth, bereft
The rose, its life slipping away
Struggles for all that’s left
Snow and sleet with freezing cold
At last the end is nigh
For the rose, so valiant and bold
It is time to die
But, when winter ends and spring arrives
With it the gentle rains
When shoots and buds begin to thrive
The rose shall live again

Very nice job here ...
and it makes a good point of course. It also reminds me of the song, "The Rose". I doubt you've heard it, but it is a fabulous song.
Anyway, congratulations on the shiny trophy up there and good luck with your writing in the future.

Thank you for entering!
A very powerful poem that can be taken in a different matter of ways, a replenishing piece, showing that love or whatever else can live again.
Thank you for entering and congratulations on winning the trophy!
Well deserved.
