A difficult decision I had to make,
the time was now, no turning back.
Had to suck it up, take up the slack,
should I have pie? Or maybe cake?
Couch is looking comfy, I'll have a seat,
some football game on TV, like I care.
Oh, a candy dish, I deserve a treat,
chewing caramel, out the window I stare.
I want some olives, go look for the dish,
put them on the tips of my fingers.
Salvation Army is looking for bell ringers,
Starlight mint surprise cookies are what I miss.
The snow falls gently, gracefully to the ground,
in the cold winter silence, some peace can be found.
Author notes
Love you Tory.
