I tell her I think
that the reason
It all fell apart
is because
she overslept.
She blames me
for being too rash.
"And"
she adds
"THAT is your problem."
Then I
tell her
that her
genius plan
failed.
She tells me I'm self-centered.
Selfish.
I say that
if we did not die-our relationship would never have survived.
And she says "Who cares? You don't even know me"
Then she blames me for her cousin, blames me for her dad.
She throws a glass and slams the door,
and turns up some sad rock music.
(The last real look I remember on her flushed face
was one that said "I'm waiting by the phone."
But now her vacant orbs cry out-
"you left me all alone!"
You
left me
all alone.)
Author notes
This is what I think the bigger picture of the theme of R&J actually is. Young love is eternal- but it can not last forever.

Do you know what? I love this! I can see our Juliet standing there, getting all worked up, as we do. A very modern take on a sonnet and I love it. Well done and good luck in the contest.
