She shimmers her smile
inhaling my energy and breathing
the sweet taste of life
while I engage my guide
stepping on the edge of her world
risking the trip from my own.
We are alike you see.
She with her wish for life
and me waiting for the end,
enduring chemical burns through
my veins with promises and prayer.
I am ready to step
and she is ready to leap
but
they bind us to our space
knowing time has not made
our paths known.
Yet,
when our fingers meet in the
dusted mist of early morning
we are of like spirit.
Laughing,
we acknowledge our place;
she pretends to caress my hair
knowing it has long left me
and I embrace her spirit
knowing how my light fades.

Dramatically beautiful...
you really reach well-beyond the image
and bring forth magic, crystal smooth
and shimmering; that is what I apply to
these words and the story they unfold.

This one touched me...
Reminded me of a friend I have lost to cancer.
When someone writes something that can stir emotion, like this does, I wish I had the power to get everyone to read it.
