Liar Liar on the Wall

Hung aloft in dazzling light
Insignificantly small
Built on drifting cumuli
Is the mirror on the wall
Few know of its existence
And even less have been
Because the glistening mirror
Reflects the beauty found within
A shockingly pretty woman
Silky hair and all
Decided to affirm her beauty
She'd find the mirror on the wall
Men had flocked around her
Stricken with amore
She was the pinnacle of higher life
Able to unlatch any door
But insecure within herself
Requiring tangible proof
She proceeded to find the mirror
Dangling ominously aloof
Beauty often spurs great wealth
So it was no complicated task
To extricate such an object
Hidden behind a clouded mask
Within the week the mirror came
And was hung in her abode
She eagerly stared inside
But then the mirror glowed
And with horror the woman screamed
Her head split in the glass
A head concealed
Behind the veal
Of beauty's wondrous mask
The being within
Was wrought with sin
Lips contaminated with lies
Raw umber skin
And awfully thin
Was the clouded lining of her eyes
The woman cried
What was this thing inside
Her that was so grotesquely sick?
And with astonishing horror
The answer before her
She was the demon, behind facade of thick

A mirror had finally spoken the truth
