Good old Sam nodded my way.
This was a ritual that
I enjoyed each end of day.
A shot glass full of whiskey
chased by a nice cold beer
was the perfect way for me
to restore my cheer.
I couldn’t help but notice
the smell of paint was in the air.
I looked around to see
what changes could be there.
A “fresh paint” sign was taped
next to the entrance by some prose.
I read it and choked with laughter
as beer shot out my nose!
Sam look at me like I had
finally lost my sanity
but I never let him know
the joke to save his vanity.
