fractured.

all I knew was that
I could no longer see
the whites of your eyes.

you were fading away
into pieces smaller than
the finest grains of chalk.

-and like an eggshell,
I was beginning to crack.

  • I like absolutely everything to do with this poem.

I would copy and paste my favorite bits, but I'd end up with the entire poem pasted into this box.

    The ending though,
    I mean - amazing.

    Love you and your talent

the fade is so difficult... we see it happening yet have no control to stop it.. and we grow
and we learn or we crack- don't crack.. that's the easy way out.. the lesson is in the surviving

    wonderful poem

    vulnerability sucks
though with ever fracture there is a cast that holds us together and in time we harden until another risk is taken and it may break again...

thank you for this entry in our contest. Great take on the prompt!

It is a good poem. Short and to the point. So fragile.
