Carnival Feelings

Giddy giggles skip along dirt roads,
enjoying the autumn breeze and
bathing in the sunlight through trees.

Standing still breathing deeply,
relishing in the environmental senses,
the sun begins to retire for the evening.

As the stars come out to play,
vision is aided by bright carnival lights,
dancing with the motion of the rides.

Watching daredevil torch a large jump-rope,
entranced by the circular fire as he dodges burns;
the excitement is intoxicating.

Final game is to guess the type of animal
that perfectly slides into a hot dog bun.
Choosing a chihuahua instead of dachshund,
I depart with only memories of laughter.
