Freedom to Live!

What is freedom?
Is it the ability to do whatever you want
however and whenever you want?
NO!

Freedom is the ability to use your innate gifts
to their fullest potential for the betterment of all!

Freedom has its cost.
We are free to express ourselves
within the realm of the divine law of our Creator!

He’s in charge and sets the parameters
in which we can operate
with free moral agency!

True freedom comes when we realize
and understand that we can only be free
when we take the responsibility
to be all we can be without harming another!

Freedom comes when we comprehend Who’s in control
relinquishing our ego to He Who knows all things
and has given us gifts and blessings to use
to serve Him!

Freedom in service?
Yes, true freedom!
In serving we learn who
and what we are and are fulfilled!

Freedom comes through acceptance
of the peace we find when we release
the need to do our own limited will
and avail ourselves of His abundance
which He freely gives!

Author notes

Lu 4:18 The Spirit of Yah is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
2Co 3:17 Now The Master is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of The Master is, there is liberty.
Joh 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Ga 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith The Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

the wicca got this awesome expression "and it mean harm none, do what ye will and that so true too. freedoms not about having the right to do anything you want its about not being stopped trying to fulfill your life and the lifes of others and this is a brillient way you tell that. if i was the creator i would be really porud of my children that took the gifts i gave them but didnt use them against other people while they made themselfs the best they could be Lovely

oooo nice visuals right off the bat... ah, the old "you have freedom, but..." lecture that needs to be retold generation after generation...! I began reading, but I really didn't understand any of your points, they being so over generalized, so I then rushed through it looking for a thought that your piece just engendered (and which was it's primary value to me!) which I did not find- freedom requires strength- and it is that underlying strength that must be safeguarded, anything that degrades it is an evil to us...

so... two cheers for stimulating deeper thought... Minus one for being overgeneralized- but then over-generalization has its merits- on an emotional plane, which maybe you were addressing here...

Noted I agree with you but you've couched this in terms of the Christian God... does this mean only Christian's can be free? I'm of the belief that God has many names and forms and that who or whatever you believe in must, by definition, be from the creator... As you point out, God is not a limit - only our perception of him is.

So true - anything worth having must be fought for and protected. Until we, within ourselves, discipline and put moral contingencies forth, there will be evil and selfishness.
    Very thought provoking!!

Freedom does come with a price...just because the root word 'free' exists in freedom does not mean freedom is 'free.' Much wisdom is invoked in this write poetess Great job! John

Your words share much wisdom and truth, true freedom is rooted in responsibile actions. Acknowledging the source of our freedom is the beginning of true freedom. Our best interest are found in His will for us. Thanks for sharing this thoughtful write.

How true, you have to pay a price for freedom and
true freedom will come once we give our all for the
good of society. Your poem has got me thinking..

I really enjoyed this, I agree that true freedom comes from doing all that you can without harming others. Theological differences aside, this is a wonderful write on the subject of your faith. Very Good.
    Peace be with you.

I like the thought of freedom in service, and the bible verse in the end. I beleive there is no such thing as true freedom though because one is always trying to please someone else. Good job!
