The mist tumbled down the grassy hillsides
Following the river as it winds on its way
The moon hung low in a balmy night sky
As she thought of the words she would say
Her face was serene, aglow from within
Ice blue eyes in a faraway gaze
Hair blowing softly in the pre dawn breeze
Today was the most important of days
She had traded first for the amethyst stone
Clear quartz took much longer to find
Chrysoprase, in a pretty shade of green
Aventurines colour she didn’t really mind
The witch was kind as she cast the spell
A leather pouch held her stones secure
Fresh rosemary to be placed under her bed
Added the amulet, she could do no more
She returned as told, before break of day
After her cycle had passed for three turns
And her moon phase had shed not a drop
What will he say, when of this he learns?
He would like a son, she just wants a child
Straight of back to grow healthy and tall
She clutches the pouch close to her heart
She will give him the greatest gift of all
