If 1+1 is 2
and 16+17 is 33
than please oh please let me know
what is equal to you and me?
the math is simple
or so we thought
we plug in these numbers
to the formulas we got
they cloud our mind
with complex thought
because when it comes to solutions
there sure are a lot
The square root of 4 is 2
the square root of me is you
we stick together like we are glue
for clearly these numbers we have no clue
so with the wave of a magic stick
under the power of arithmetic
we stare at the clock to watch it tick
and our love awakens with a simple flick
So as we lay and watch the sun rise
there lies the smell of constants and pi's
and when i stare into your precious eyes
I feel those numbers all capsize

This is really interesting and fun-most poems about love generally bore me because they are usually cliched, but this is very original and I really enjoyed it. It feels so playful while still being about love. My favorite part is definitely the last two lines.
"and when i stare into your precious eyes
I feel those numbers all capsize"

This is a very intersting poem... outlining a mistake that many people make in love. Trying to simplify such a broad topic and compare it to a finite set of rules. I however think some of the wording is may be a little bit complex if the theme of the poem is trying to simplify love... just an opinion. Other than that I really enjoyed your original thought

I really like this. It's a good thing math was never introduced into relationships. Unless you're both math teachers. In any case great entry and good luck!!
