Nay, Not I

Nay, not life itself in this world of woe,
But also the hate and cruelty below,
Lay down these hates and tales alike,
And fine new things in this world of life.
Your name is holy and one of a kind,
One that must be heard throughout one’s mind,
Oh! What wonders lie in mine ears,
Unlocking stories and maybe someone’s fears.
Think of what my words of wisdom are,
Accept them in life and you will go far.
Take them in and use them through cursed ail,
Fall back on your thoughts and use this flail,
Knock down the scars of ugly emotions,
And build yourself a remembering token.
Nay, not I can do what all are deserved,
Because all of my stories have not been heard,
Ask me one day what are my thoughts,
And maybe you might carry what is sought.

Wow... this is amazing... I don't know what to say, other than you are obviously an amazing poet and this is a fantastic poem. Your skill is wonderful and shows though the poem's flow, delicate word choice, and subject depth. Your language shows that you have had lots of experience poetry, and I hope I can live up to your standards one day.

    I especially loved the line:
Knock down the scars of emotions
I thought this was excellent, not only because of the image of emotions forming walls in our hearts, minds, and souls, but also because I can relate to it. I think the best writers are the ones who can put enough passion into their poems to effect others enough that they can take it and make it their own.

    Wonderful write!!!
