from the darkest of purples to the lightest of green
also shades of aqua that sit somewhere in between
the yellows and oranges, pinks, reds and the blues
when it comes to color...the world is full of wonderful hues
so why is it that our nation seems to be caught up in a fight
the colors disappear and everything is about black and white
this gray area we live in for the sake of personal anger release
robs us of the beauty of color and a nation of picture perfect peace

So much truth in this well penned piece, too often we live in the gray, it clouds our perceptions and colors our intelligence. Very nice rhythm and rhyme and wonderful content. Hugs, Bunny

Well said, my friend, well said. This lovely piece reminds me of the preacher who preached, "God is color-blind." In hopes to bring more racial unity. He was told, "To the contrary, Preacher, God sees and loves all the colors." It is a shame that we become so limited in our scope. We truly cheat ourselves out of so much of the beauty of living when do. Definitely poetry that matters!

Ha ha ha... I just wrote a piece about black/white/grey so this really is quite cool to check someone elses views on the topic. Nice work.

Too true, we are so tied up in being politically correct and people just can't be themselves. Even race has become political. Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you for the message of hope (and the beautiful reminders of the colors that make for more enjoyment -I know I wouldn't want to go back to black and white television). The colors and diversity bring out more life to me.
