For love she lay exposed,
surrendering her bare heart,
stripped off any armor by lies,
walking before cruel eyes
seeing her naked betrayal
after her tongue bragged
of Camelot romance.
Shame her nudity
bored in deepest sense of grief
her King
another’s lover,
stripped of her princess façade.
Insides walking near death,
barefoot on burning coals of gossip.

You tell the story behind the modest unengaging pose...and give power to the picture....A creative work of penning indeed! Bravo ....

The proverbial downfall of we women folk... Equating love with sex will get us duped almost every time! With your proper balance of pith and puritanical... a wonderfully creative write!

Really excellent piece. My favorite part "seeing her naked betrayal after her tongue bragged of Camelot romance". What a great way to say "pride before the fall". Good luck in this contest, though I don't think you need it!
