if the yellow brick road appeared to be trampled with the same red shoes,
would you still follow the path that a witch's song convinced you to choose?
if the brain of a scarecrow wasn't lost from its head,
would you be scared and travel alone instead?
if the heart of a metallic man was to exist,
would the path you had chosen still persist?
if the lion found his courage before you met his fear,
would the reason of your journey be as significantly clear?
the way back home is a complicated road,
would you listen to the voices and do what you're told?
or would you ignore them and trust your own mind?
i wonder where you would be, i wonder what you would find.
would you have gotten lost because you went the wrong way?
maybe you would have given up kansas and decided to stay.
what if the yellow road was painted chrome?
what would you do if you couldn't come home?
what if your slippers weren't ruby red?
what if you weren't really dreaming this place in your head?
what if Oz was reality and Kansas was a lie?
what if monkeys really knew how to fly?
would you believe in a world if you thought it was wrong?
would you be trying to find your home when you were there all along?
what if the yellow road was made of chrome?
would you believe that there really was no place like home?
what if everything you thought was true was really a lie?
would you let it twist in the tornado in the sky?
what is reality anyway?
with 3 clicks of a heel,
can it really go away?
what is home to a mindless man?
what about the guy who gets life from an oil can?
what is home to a frightened mammal,
wanting to be released from nonexistent trammel?
if home is like no other place,
then why is it something you have to chase?

Hmmm, very interesting. Poses some great questions here. I do like the start and end particularly.
