All night you've looked right through me
Your eyes everywhere but here
And all the while I've been watching
Sighing with exasperation
Why don't you notice me?
The night drags on minute by minute
And I stay right here with my friends
Wishing every second could be spent with you
But I continue to elude your attention
Why won't you look at me?
At last its over
We move to the door as one
You're still looking the other way
And my eyes are transfixed on your face
Why can't you speak to me?
Someone bumps me
I'm pressed forwards
Right as you take that step
And we both come face to face
Why has my brain stopped functioning?
You look up and laugh
Eyes crinkled in amusement
And I follow your gaze
Gasping in surprise at the mistletoe
Why don't you kiss me?
And then you do
Stepping into my body heat
Your mouth moving closer
My eyes sliding shut
Why does this feel like insanity?
Voices intertwine around us
But your lips still press against mine
Your scent enveloping like a blanket
Your fingers barely brushing my neck
Why don't we go out sometime?
