With eyes all wide, and misty eyed.
There stands the newly wedded bride;
And, by her side, quite dignified,
The handsome groom, so full of pride.
The kith and kin, there stand beside,
As newer bonds are newly tied;
They shed their tears in joy implied,
No matter what they feel inside.
And here, a fool does stand aside,
His love for her he chose to hide;
So her to him, cold fate denied,
Now not for him, the life he vied.
Thus, one more bridge, one less divide,
And two more souls, now unified.

Thank you for your entry
Unfortunately tears does not constitute fufilling the prompt. I am sorry, because this was a very well done poem, but I will have to remove it. Thanks for trying though.
