Freedom is...

The silence of a sunrise
in a world that's finally calm.
Wind as it leans in fields of wheat
and eagles on the wing.
Honey bees and flowers
united in the spring.
A baby when she's sleeping
in the warmth of mothers arms.
An old hound dog beside you
like a good and faithful friend.
The peaceful easy feeling
that loving someone brings.
The happiness you feel
in a world completely real...
when you're all that you can be.

A great take on those things in life that bring warmth and contentment to those who appreciate the simplicity of 'priceless gifts' that surround us.

Freedom. I love your descriptions of this freedom as it is. The beauty that surrounds you, the peace and the joy you see in everything around you. 'winds that lean in fields of wheat, and Eagles on the wing. The first line is so descriptive in its content that i can actually see the wheat flowing in the wind, and the second line, you can't getting any free'r than an Eagle on the wing. Everything you mentioned here gives me a warm feeling because of the innocence that you used to relate freedom to us. I congratulate you on such a beautiful piece and wish the the very best in the contest.

And the beauty of your words creats devotion for that word...freedoom. Something we often take for grated. But then as your poem says there are many types of freedom.

Another lovely and insightful piece. "In a world completely real, when you're all that you can be". That is what I strive for and I believe that is the only thing which can truly fulfill us.
    Best wishes.
