My mind is young
my youth hides its roots
the sly surrounds me
yet I still bare your fruit.
Howling like wind
judging they seed
they milked me of core
and turned their back on me.
In the strength of a pack
in shade we stand guard
may we fight to the end
to protect our flesh and blood.
Foolish I was not to notice
the loyalty and the heart
blind to see my surroundings
I'm just old bark...

Good stuff
In this line: "and turned there back on me." I suspect you meant to say "their" instead of "There." -
Wonderful job of melding the two using abstract thought together, you've done justice to your chosen graphic indeed

Best wishes to you!

This poem is adorable, I've always had a thing for wolfs and this I could maybe call a outside the box thinking. But you know, you would have stand a better chance of placing in the finalists list if you hadn't upset the judge

It is after all, the judge who decides who will win or not. -
