Our love was molten,
searing flesh with pleasure’s heat.
Too soon, the coldness came
and the ashes of loneliness
coated my existence.
Now I am just a frozen
memory, sealed forever
in time…
searing flesh with pleasure’s heat.
Too soon, the coldness came
and the ashes of loneliness
coated my existence.
Now I am just a frozen
memory, sealed forever
in time…
Author notes
I remember seeing pictures of people trapped in Pompeii, turned to stone where they lay… this reminded me of those pictures.

Oh VERY good, I really like this!!!
Well done.
A fabulous take on the prompt.

this is an excellent take on the prompt. A sad one though.. such a tragic event that occurred. the emotions that were felt as I read this were extremely powerful & strong.
the imagery quite dark and vivid, raw and powerful.
good luck

Nice way to weave a historical tragedy in with raw and deep emotion. Two images I remember seeing in school were two lovers, spooning and a mother, curled up into the wall, trying to shield her child....such love, truly frozen in time. Nicely done. Best of luck to you in this contest.

Awesome
I remember studying this very topic in History
Your words being the tragedy to the for front
Best wishes to you
