Acidic time
has eroded the
façade of the woman
I love.

Her heart,
once so accepting,
has become eroded
by the demon of familiarity.

A bright future
is now only illuminated
by the flames of disappointment.

    I really love your take on the prompt. very dark, painful. what a sad thing to have happen though. the dark feeling is felt quite strongly throughout this poem. Excellent take on the prompt
