He Flew!

He wrote his own tribute in the words that he penned,
poet quite worthy who took his last breath;
a tome that he’d written testified of his life,
now words in me treasured, so sad for his wife!

Soldier, believer, poet and friend,
his words left here for us to read and to lend;
rode his star ship pyramid coursing the heavens,
brought thoughts back to write, misty and driven!

Touched on the sad to then let it go,
rejoiced in the glad his heart to show;
took his words with him to cast in the sea,
then put them to paper for us to see!

this man wrote haiku
quite funny to see and read
brought laughter indeed

He left us a journal that spoke of his heart,
adventure in prose that shows us in part,
a life lived in virtue, for his fellow man,
he did what he could, this man had a plan!

Author notes

Dave was such a fine poet that even though I've only read a few of his works I feel like I knew him. I can tell I would've liked him! Way to go Bob! You were loved & admired and that says a lot for a well lived life!

    A Fine Tribute!!!!

    Yes...Dave lived his life with integrity and truth...After he gave his life to the Lord, he lived virtuous and offered up words of wisdom he had gained through his experiences and how far the Lord had brought him...A very nice tribute and thanks for your entry and the best of luck in my contest!!!~~~Toni~~~

    Brilliant title Such a tribute to this man you have penned. He did indeed do what he could. you have captured Rustynite well within your lines. I am sure he would feel humbled by them as he was a modest man but he would also have been touched. A pleasure to read Good luck in the contest
