You drop a vase from the shelf
Accidental, but still you watch it shatter
Pieces spread accross the floor
You retrieve each one
Repair it with glue but still
It's never quite as strong as it was
There's always one small piece missing

Such care, gluing it again, but of course, you know it got broken and is therefore not perfect any more.
I know that feeling of watching things break!
Enjoyed your write.

really nice, brief moment. you can take it literally and figuratively, i don't know which one you intended but it's a good read both ways. i loved this line: accidental, but still you watch it shatter
& it ended on a melancholy, incomplete note, but a powerful one. thanks for entering -

i mean incomplete in a good way, not that you should add to it, for clarification. it's pretty strong as is.

This reminds me of a troubled relationship. Creative use on the chosen prompt and very well written.
