Holy Communion

Fragrant petals adrift
tranquil streams of calm

Basking in silent shadows
of clandestine brilliance

Wading like holy rollers
in sanctified glory

Giving praise to the
heavenly host

Arrayed in garments
of Lily white

boy oh boy.. i haven't heard the term holy rollers since the 70's... so fun to
see it pop up here in this white robed poem-
and yes, i can see the robes
and the rollers hands held to the sky
and the word jesus repeated over
    and over again

    nicely done- thanks so much

(((Before getting into the poem I would like to write about your title and author notes. I almost felt going off the title alone sarcasm... I think leaving the ! out would give more of a sacred feel- I understand you want the power but trust your words of the poem to carry that through.
Just like I mentioned... trust your words to carry through the purity and sacredness... trust that I the reader 'get it'- even if its in my own way...
telling me kind of takes the enjoyment out of the whole concept. Trust that you are good enough to put forth what you mean.)))

    Fragrant petals adrift
    tranquil streams of calm

    Basking in silent shadows
    of clandestine brilliance
(((precious serenity to me.. basking in silent shadows- the strongest part and does so make me know exactly how you want this piece taken-- i almost see myself kneeling and praying while a single light shines upon the top of my bowed head)))

    Wading like holy rollers
    in sanctified glory

    Giving praise to the
    heavenly host

    Arrayed in garments
    of Lily white

((( and i am correct in my feeling from the wading and giving praise... your use of lily reminds me of my grandmother... she would say 'the lily truth'
lovely poem and put together very nicely. Thank you so much for taking the time to enter into our contest)))

    Wonderful. Well done.

This is a very uplifting poem without any soppiness or drama. I am surprised because it is different than many of your writes.

It amazes me how you got such words of wisdom from that simple picture and how you have transformed it into something beautiful.

The only thing I question is the exclamation mark. I found it misleading in the title.

    Magnificent poem.
