Memories of so many winters ago
my sister and I played like a couple of children
Excited to see the first blanket of snow
laughing at the shadows offered us by the moon
none of us wanting this magical night to end any time soon
Our cheeks were soon nipped by ole Jack Frost's bite
little faces glowing like rosey apples on this night
Down the winding road, through the woods, whizzing past trees
the old wooden sleigh carried us faster than lightening
landing on the river we prayed was frozen solid
we were laughing too much to find this frightening.
