they sealed away,
balancing upon sharpest knife
of this delay.
Another chapter written to cement
within these last white rooms breathing torment.
In this "freedom", this cage of lies
they built for me,
insanity a kind surprise
I guarantee.
Another song written to old regret
within these white rooms trying to forget.
Sealed away from your gentle touch
grasping my soul,
illusion that my heart shall clutch
in words you stole.
Another tear written to our madness
within my white rooms built out of sadness.
I seek to be free ,
for once I can see
this cage you made me
from our loves debris.
I am free
in my madness.

Author notes
This poem was inspired by a song "Bright White Jackets" by April Smith that was the prompt for the contest I entered. It was a beautiful and deep song with a lot of meanings behind and it inspired me a lot. I'm not yet sure if I like the outcome of the poem itself but I'm rather satisfied.

Very beautiful. This is what I was looking for in my contest--- some really good unique imagery and a tone in which the reader can FEEL what is going on. You rocked this piece. Good job! Thank you for entering my contest. -
