a promise: to never put you into words

there is a dash of life between -- chamomile breaths
and lavender kisses
she holds a softness that reminds him
of his mother

caffeinated dreams perfume her wrists
one palm to her womb
to leave the other open to be wounded
sheer absurdity!

contracting against every notion
life, as a fish, swam against prosperity
to become life

truth: the only i’ll ever truly know;
some days i love you, more heatedly than others

    Outstanding

    I thought this was a strong and compelling poem with some interesting imagery. I liked how you described the woman in this poem and your choice of language. Difficult to find areas that need improvement- I thought this flowed well. Thank you for posting.
